BDKEY® Plane & BDKEY® Fin

Procedure - Impression of the jaw with help of the BDKEY®, BDKEY® Plane & BDKEY® Fin

Impressions using the BDKEY®s are used when no reference points, such as an ‘old denture’, are available. The impression can be taken for all Angle classes.

  1. Download stl. data sets for 3D printing of suitable impression trays (BDKEY® size S, M or L, also available in a levelled version in the posterior area) as well as the InnerPlane (transfer key of the visible level of a row of teeth to the outside). You can find the stl. data sets here

  2.  3D printing of the desired BDKEY® and InnerPlane with e.g. M-PRINT Tray or M-PRINT Surgical guide HT.

  3.   Assembling the BDKEY® Plane & BDKEY® Fin and the InnerPlane.

  4.   Fixation of the InnerPlane onto the BDKEY® row of teeth.

  5.   Taking the usual functional impression of the edentulous jaws with alignment to Camper's plane.

  6.   Check aesthetics and function.

  7.   Digitisation of the impression, e.g. with an IOS or EOS.

  8.   Implementation of the stl. data records in the BDCreator® PLUS CAD software.
